Securing your bike in a secure area with lots of passers-by goes a long way to making sure it's there when you want it.
There is a range of bike parks across the city, try and avoid the racks where a wheel is wedged into a slot - experienced cyclists
call them "wheel-benders" they're obviously put there by people who've never ridden a bike!
Fortunately there are some good sites with "sheffield stands".
The Sheffield stand is an inverted U-shaped metal bar, which is inexpensive and easy to install.
Because it supports the bike and enables people to lock the frame and one or both wheels to the stand it is often the
preferred option. Its simple but practical design has made it the most popular cycle parking device for local authorities,
schools and work places. It also requires minimal maintenance.
To check bike parking locations see the red and blue dots on the map below. Photo's of the good bike parks will be added when there's time!!
