Don't jump lights or let a wound up motorist wind you up.
Always take the "b-safe & b-seen" tips seriously.
Use a bell or bike horn to warn others of your approach.
Use good lights at night - carry a back up LED just in case.
Use reflective gear when in the dark - it may not be the coolest gear,
but you'll offset that by being on your bike - didn't you know that the bike is the coolest invention?
Ride with others if just starting out.
When going on family rides, plan for your children.
